Meet a Mom: Amber of Glow Envy Skincare! - Richmond Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I was born and raised in Utah. We moved here 6 months ago for my husband’s career.

How many children do you have and what are their ages?

I have three kiddos living and one angel baby. Our boys are 11 and 9, our angel boy would have been 6 and our daughter (who we were lucky enough to adopt) is 5.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

Something that people are always surprised to know about me is that we had a YouTube channel. We started it after we adopted our daughter to try to raise awareness for infant loss and open adoption. It was important to us to share that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Is there anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

My husband is my rock and I’m so grateful for him in the parenting realm. There is no one else I would rather be a team with than him. Our daughter’s birth grandparents have also been lifesavers for us. When our daughter was 3 she was diagnosed with autism. I didn’t understand just how hard parenting kiddos with special needs could be until we experienced it. Her birth grandparents (which became grandparents to all of our kids) have saved the day on the regular. We couldn’t do it without them!

Favorite things to do with your kids?

Our kids are turning into the coolest humans! We love to hang out together. Every year on our angel baby’s birthday we try to do a big family trip to celebrate him and to spend time together. This has taken us to beaches all over the world. We also love to ride dirt bikes and Onewheels (go look those up! You’ll thank me later) and pretty much anything outside.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I am a registered nurse and have my own business called “Glow Envy Skincare.” I do different procedures to help people Love their skin again  including chemical peels, microneedling and medi-facial infusions.

I treat anything from acne and scarring to wrinkles and pigment issues and everything in between. I also have a retail side where I am able to help people use the correct products at home to maximize their results. I take the guesswork out of skincare for them.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

When we moved here I had to start my business over from scratch. I think anywhere else it would have felt impossible but here the community has been amazing! Everyone I meet is so kind, friendly and supportive. Stepping outside of my comfort zone has been made so much easier by the awesome people in Richmond!
