Many parents have reached out to us to see if VisArts is offering in-person activities and support for working families during the upcoming school year. In response to these requests, we're offering a limited number of supervised, on-site studio study spaces for students in grades one through eight. ⁠
⁠
The VisArts Studio Study Pods Program will start on Tuesday, September 8 and run through February 5, 2021. Pods will have no more than five students each and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. ⁠
⁠
This distance learning support program is designed to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students whose parents or guardians must return to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⁠

We hope that this program can offer your family a sense of normalcy for the school year, providing a daily schedule and peace of mind for you, knowing that your child is in a safe environment focusing on their schoolwork. Our staff and Studio Learning Assistants will provide an academic setting during the school day and enriching arts programming, games and movement activities after school. VisArts has supported Richmond’s students since our founding in 1963. We hope we can continue to serve you as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together. ⁠

Our local business spotlight today is on Dr. Kelley of @rvaholisticpt! Below are a few details from her on what she does to help local mamas right here in #RVA. Follow her @rvaholisticpt to learn more!

I am Dr Kelley, Board Certified Women's Health Physical Therapist, mom of 3 and mom on a mission to stop normalizing pain and leaking especially after childbirth. I have been a pelvic health specialist for over 13 years, but started @rvaholisticpt in March after my own experience as a physical therapy patient. Everything about it was impossibly hard especially finding childcare and time for my appointments! That experience launched my business! I cater to pregnancy, postpartum, the female athlete and runner and offer housecalls, clinic on tuesdays and telehealth. My goal is to deliver care to moms and birthing people in the setting most convenient to them- clinic, virtual or their house! Best part- you don't need to hire a sitter!
