Congrats to Rihanna on the birth of her first child! We love her fashion forward maternity style – from baring her belly to announce her pregnancy to her high fashion looks that had paparazzi covering her pregnancy like it was the Met Gala. When interviewed by Entertainment Weekly, Rihanna shared: “[Pregnancy’s] a long nine to 10 months. You have to enjoy it…Fashion is one of my favorite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal.”
The New York Times agreed with her assessment, describing Rihanna’s maternity wear as a political statement. If baby doll dresses and maternity jeans suit you, great. But it’s also inspiring to see an icon soar to even higher heights on her journey to becoming a mom.
We can’t wait to see how she reinvents new mom style – but we’re guessing we won’t see her in leggings and a messy bun (not that they’re anything wrong with that classic look).
In honor of Rihanna’s baby news, we’re sharing our 5 favorite looks from her pregnancy. Which was your favorite?
Pregnancy Announcement
Rihanna set the tone for her fashion forward, curve-baring pregnancy style when she announced her pregnancy by being photographed in ripped jeans and a long pink coat, purposely opened over her bump.
Cozy & Cool
This suede coat from Glenn Martens paired with thigh-high boots shows that Rihanna can cover up without hiding her style.
Sheer Black Tie Style
Rihanna’s style was clear at Jay Z’s Oscar Party, in this Valentino gown.
Go Mets
This more casual looked paired jeans with a t-shirt — but with heels to keep the fashion level high.
French Fashion
Rihanna in Dior at Paris Fashion Week was another sheer style moment.

Here she speaks to The Local Mom’s Network about how motherhood has fundamentally changed her life, from how she cooks to how much she worries (hint: both are more now).
