Recently, we shared all about our favorite new kids’ fashion find, Rockets of Awesome. It is a mom-founded brand of adorable clothes that can be bought online and through their time-saving subscription model. We’re still stocking up on festive holiday looks and classic pieces from their Winter collection for kids, and were thrilled when we heard they were launching a Mini collection for babies! While we love shopping for our littlest littles, they seem to grow out of their clothes so quickly, and the subscription model is a perfect tool for keeping ahead of those size changes. We chatted with founder and mom Rachel Blumenthal about this super cute new collection:

What was the inspiration behind the Mini line?
The collection was inspired by our customers – real parents sharing feedback over the years. We did away with anything that was not new-parent friendly (i.e. twenty snaps that make you lose your mind in the middle of the night) and introduced amazing alternatives (hello fuss-free zippers). Each product is truly buttery soft (we have yet to see someone touch our footies or sweaters without commenting on how soft they are).
What are you most excited about in terms of its launch?
As a team of parents, we are intimately familiar with how overwhelming it is to be a new parent – especially a first time parent. We are so excited to launch Mini to further our mission to simplify parents’ lives. More than anything we just can’t wait for parents to touch the product – it’s super duper butter soft, uber stretchy, has stress-free zippers and if you sign up for the subscription, its magically delivered each season just as your baby outgrows their clothes.
Have you had to overcome any supply chain issues in the last few months?
Our team has worked really hard this year to get ahead of any potential supply chain issues but we are also still amidst a pandemic that is affecting the entire world. We have been quite strategic in how we have placed our orders, developed fabrics and planned shipping to mitigate as much impact as possible.
Why is the subscription model so perfect for babies – who grow out of clothes so quickly (and their busy moms!)?
We wanted to offer a completely flexible subscription that catered to babies’ growth spurts with items they actually need. Whether that’s the footie you can’t live without in new patterns or a cozy Sherpa jacket for the cooler months, it should always arrive just in time for your baby’s change in size.
What are a few of your favorite pieces from the collection?
Our footies and bodysuits are super special – they come in 18 different prints, the fabric is buttery soft, uber stretchy and the zippers make everyone’s life so much easier. Our Cherry (Top and Bottom) and Color Block (Top and Bottom) sweater sets are softer than you can imagine and so versatile, the striped faux fur jacket is a standout (it also comes in big kid sizes), and we introduce some new iconic sweatsuit prints to the collection like the lightning bolt (Top and Bottom), splatter (Top and Bottom) and mini floral (Top and Bottom).
Adorable! Why does this line make an excellent holiday gift?
All parents want a “set it and forget it gift” – the one that you know you can always rely on a brand to have available, and no fail, every kid will love it. Our clothes are so incredibly uber soft, comfy and stylish that kids freak the minute they touch them. We are confident, in their own adorable way, babies will do the same – plus their parents will love our no fuss zippers!
