Easy After-School Snack Ideas! | Richmond Moms

Megan Sullivan, co-founder of The Local Moms Network recently returned to Fox61 to share her family’s favorite easy snacks. Here are two they love:

Homemade Party Mixes

“These are perfect for bringing in the car, throughout the house, etc. My kids are always on the go, so snacks that can travel well are key!” says Megan. “We love using our Papergreats trays, which are 100% recyclable and female- and CT-founded.” (Use code LOCALMOMS for 15% off!)

Directions:

  1. Grab your favorite air-tight container and the favorite snacks from the grocery store.
  2. Mix and go! “We love doing this because I know my kids won’t end up eating a whole bowl of goldfish or M&Ms…we can mix some healthy snacks in, too. On a car trip, you can make games for them: counting, sorting (by shape, color, size), I Spy and more!” says Megan.

Mix Ideas

Favorite cereals (like Cheerios, Chex, Oat Bran)
Nuts (almonds, pistachios, peanuts)
Popcorn
Pretzels
Yogurt raisins
Marshmallows
M&Ms
Toasted chickpeas

Avocado Chocolate Pudding

“My kids and I love this recipe from Chef Fausto of Myx Kitchen. It’s also great for a dinner party, topped with fresh whipped cream!” Both of these can be packed in an insulated lunchbag like the cute ones from JuJube.

1 ½ avocado

½ cup maple syrup (you can use less to taste)
