As moms, finding wardrobe staples that are both comfortable and stylish is key. We need to be ready to go from the playground to pick up and from meetings to lunch, quick. That’s why we’re loving Revtown, a new brand of denim started by former Under Armour executives. Launched in 2018, they added their women’s line in September 2019 and have become known for designer quality denim at a surprisingly affordable ($79) price point, all available online (with free returns). Their “digital tailor” helps first time buyers find the right size. We spoke to the Product Development Lead Jennifer Carcich, who is Mom to Wilder, 2 ½ and Violet, 7 months, about this innovative brand, her life as a working mom, and what’s next for Revtown.
Please tell us a bit about your impressive background, which includes time at places like Under Armor and Saucony creating product lines.
I have been in the athletic arena for almost 20 years, working primarily in product roles. I’ve definitely always had an affinity for combining form and function, and have done apparel, footwear, men’s, women’s. Prior to this I was at Under Armour for eight years, which is where I met the founders of Revtown. I joined the team a year and a half ago; I was pregnant the whole time we were building the women’s line.
Can you please share a bit more about the company?
The founding guys were all in the athletic space and they came to the denim industry, which hadn’t been innovated in a long time and said, hey, men are wearing jeans and coming home and putting on athletic clothes, and women are changing into leggings. That’s where they started—with incredible fabric as well as fit.

Why are these jeans so great for moms?
I love them as a mom personally because they’re extremely versatile. When I’m waking up in the morning, getting everyone ready and dropping off at daycare, I go to these jeans because I feel put together quickly. With the premium fabric, I can wash them often but they retain their shape and color. I can buy three pairs at $80 that are the same quality as a designer brand. The yarns we use are a special proprietary yarn that have a great stretch but also have incredible recovery and durability, usually found in yoga pants.
How did your time at Under Armour prepare you for this job?
I loved my time at Under Armour and it was fun working on products that were designed to make athletes better. For me, whether you’re working on an athletic line intending to help someone PR on a marathon or helping a mom get through a day, I like the challenge of bringing that idea from athletic wear to denim.
Do you have any strategies that you turn to as a working mom?
I’ve given myself more grace. I love having my kids because they keep me grounded and remind me of what’s important. My mantra is to take each day as it comes. It’s helped me establish boundaries. It’s chaotic at times, and there are a lot pressure for women to have this work life balance—nobody asks men about this. I’ve had to ask for help. And my husband and I are creative in terms of our calendar and travel. We have a dry erase board with a travel and responsibility schedule. We’re over-communicating our needs so we don’t get in these pinch points.

We always like to support local businesses. Can you please share any of your favorites in Western Massachusetts where you live?

Whether your kids are into football or not, having something to keep them occupied during the big game can be clutch. All the adults will then be able to enjoy the action on the field (not to mention the commercials and half time show!). We rounded up 4 of our favorite crafts from around the blogosphere, perfect for game time or any time you need something to do (which, for most of us, is all the time). Pro tip: for toddlers, use plastic cups instead of mason jars, for obvious reasons.
